Advancing Kansas Associations Through Collaboration, Education, Information and Advocacy.
The Kansas Society of Association Executives
At our best, Associations connect people and build community. In these times of pandemic and social unrest – and in light of a renewed awareness of inequities in our society – how can association leaders respond constructively, in ways that reflect their values and the mission and values of their association? This course will look at the dynamics of community and polarization in society, and consider how associations can foster a sense of community that is authentic, increasingly diverse, and intentionally inclusive. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on these efforts will be considered. Participants will also examine the psychological and social phenomenon of implicit bias, and learn specific practices for mitigating this unconscious driver of thoughts and actions.
